Leona Lewis’s third single off her debut album Spirit – Footprints In The Sand was released on 7th March 2008 in aid of Sports Relief but failed to chart in the top 40 of this weeks chart. One of the main reasons why the song failed to chart in the top 40 this week was because of the songs ability to climb the charts in 2007 on downloads alone. When Spirit was released in November 2007, Footprints entered the official singles chart and climbed to number 65 meaning the British population had already had one copy of the song. However, the song is a double A-side and its counter part “Better In Time” has charted at number 23 on this weeks Top 40.

 We’ve decided to make “Footprints In The Sand” our number one single of the week because of the songs just cause (Sports Relief). Hopefully with your help, we’ll be able to make the song next weeks number 1!
