Usher has finally announced the title of his new album. Here I Stand, which has already spawned a number 1 single, “Love In This Club” has been announced as the albums title and will be released in June 2008. Staying with the topic of his number one song “Love In This Club” featuring Young Jeezy, news has arrived regarding the songs popularity. Despite being at number 51 last week on the American charts, the song rose to number 1 this week. Why? The songs producer Polow Da Don’s, leaked the song and allowed it to gain popularity before officially releasing the song. The song has taken the record of the third-largest jump to the top in the 50-year history of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

American R&B singer Akon has announced to MTV News that he is hopeful that his first single from his new album, Acquitted will feature a collaboration with Michael Jackson. Akon states that his new album will be released sometime in May and that he is already planning his fourth album which will be called, Double Jeopardy.

“My fourth album is called Double Jeopardy,” he revealed. “I’m already on it. It’s all set up. If they want all the records now, it would take me 30 days to put it together.”

Despite Akon’s claim that Michael Jackson has not yet recorded his part of the song, the media is reporting that Jackson has already played his part on the record. I suppose we’ll just have to wait until May to find out.

If you were planning on buying tickets for this years V Festival then we’re sorry to announce that tickets for the popular festival have sold out. According to NME Magazine, tickets sold out within 90 minutes of their release on March 7th; a record breaking time for the festival. However there is some good news, kind of. Tickets for the festival via coach packages are still available for purchase and are the only available tickets. Headlining this years festival at Staffordshire and Essex on August 16 and 17 2008 are Amy Winehouse, Kings of Leon, The Verve, Kaiser Chiefs and Muse.

Chris Brown the 18 year old R&B singer from the US, was recently in the centre of a media frenzy when it was reported that he had participated in a fight in a club in Germany while promoting his latest album, Exclusive. Mr. Brown recently recorded a video for YouTube in which he denies these claims stating that he was just dancing but that he does admit that while this was what he was doing, some of the pictures taken by photographers do look as if he was infact fighting. Leona Lewis’s third single off her debut album Spirit – Footprints In The Sand was released on 7th March 2008 in aid of Sports Relief but failed to chart in the top 40 of this weeks chart. One of the main reasons why the song failed to chart in the top 40 this week was because of the songs ability to climb the charts in 2007 on downloads alone. When Spirit was released in November 2007, Footprints entered the official singles chart and climbed to number 65 meaning the British population had already had one copy of the song. However, the song is a double A-side and its counter part “Better In Time” has charted at number 23 on this weeks Top 40.

 We’ve decided to make “Footprints In The Sand” our number one single of the week because of the songs just cause (Sports Relief). Hopefully with your help, we’ll be able to make the song next weeks number 1!

Billboard.com are reporting that Whitney Houston’s yet untitled album will be released this year before the Christmas holidays. The US Magazine / music regulator recently spoke to Clive Davis (chairman and CEO of RCA Music Group, J Records and Sony BMG North America) about the album in which he stated, “We’re on track for a holiday release,” he said. “We’re not going to compromise who she is to fit into today’s hip-hop radio market. The public wants Whitney material.” According to the interview, four tracks for the album have been produced and producers such as will.i.am, Sean Garrett and Akon are set to make their mark on the new album.
